I got just a few directions before I started painting this one.
The main goal was to portray the feeling she had while listening to two songs.
(quite the challenge I might add)
The songs being: Secret Garden (duh), and Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol (sweeeeeeeeeeet)

I really wanted to take on this challenge and also do some things I've never really done before.

One of them being painting a detailed background, but I've done that before... so not really new... just..
Something I hardly ever do..

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand
PAINT A BIRD!!! .......yaaaaaaaaay!!

I used millions of references of just about any bird I could find, but narrowing it down it a mix between

- A Chickadee
- A Parakeet (budgie)
- A Dove
- My imagination

Blend that all together and you get a.. : Chickarakeedove??!?!?!

never mind.........

I kept on changing little things and colors about every hour.
Couldn't get it to a satisfactory level!!
And then..... the last bit just came...

Thank the heavens for inspiration!!!!!!!!

You are the first one to notice that. Hehehe
I thought the exact same thing, but anything I tried to improve it, just made it look worse.

You know when you reach that point where you've worked on it for so long and no matter what you do, it doesn't work anymore?
That's the point I reached with those lips.
I saw that they were wrong, but I just couldn't improve them.
Looking at it now, I do see what it needs, but it's finished.
Maybe I will revise it someday...
