This is so extremely beautiful. It very nearly looks like a photograph. I wish I had this sort of talent. but upon second glance I can see the digital brush strokes (it is digital isn't it? Sorry I'm not always good at judging media...pretty bad since I have a degree in art history) I would normally attempt something of a crit but since this is a comission I decided I wouldn't It's a beautiful piece though. i just wanted to say something about that. :)

Thank you very much for your nice message. I really appreciate it.
It is indeed digital, you did see that correctly so it's OK.
And you can still crit it if you want two it's still a painting as much as it is a commission ID paint it so it's OK. :)

Thank you so very much for your nice comments and really appreciate you taking the time to post a message.

:D you are most welcome. Just as I apprciate it when people take the time to comment I try, when struck by something in particular, to comment as well, though I'm not always very good at putting my initial responses into words. :)

I thought it looked digital but sometimes it's hard to tell. I've seen some art that looks like photography (though perhaps it's photo manipulation) and some that's looked like traditional media but was in fact done on the computer so I'm never entirely sure. :D

I'm not sure there was anytnhing TO crit. The piece is very beautiful and well done. I wish I had your talent. :D Perhaps I will sit down at another time and try my hand at it. I could probably stand to practice if nothign else. :XD:

 you are very welcome. I love your art. I'll try to remember to take the time to comment again when I can. :D take care and I always look forward to seeing more of your work.

Yeah I love it when people take the time to sit down and really look at works I created.
I mean, you create art for it to be viewed, right? ^_^

I even have difficulty defining what traditional media is used sometimes..
Or if its digital or traditional...
Nowadays with all the software it's SO hard to tell!!!

And don't be silly about talent!!
I wish I could write like you!
And I am convinced I am not the only one thinking that!

It's hard for me to comment, partly because all my reactions are initially emotional and so it then takes me time to sit down and properly untangle just what it is that makes me want to click that :+fav: button. It's a big part of the reason I kind of dislike those badges that say "Comment before you fav" *shrug* :XD: I can understand at the same time though why so many artists want to get a comment along with a :+fav: since I get so few myself and I would love more feedback, and not just the "Wow this is amazing" kind of feedback too. :D Actually I'd rather get "You need to improve ___ and here's why" comments to be honest. :D I think it's why I try to find something to crit when I do comment on work, not because I'm a critical person but because I'd hope that someone would let me know what isn't working along with what is. :D

wow...sorry about the rant. It kind of got away on me a bit there. Sorry. :XD:

It really can be hard to tell with some of the software but I think that's what is amazing about it. I hate how some people look down on digital art because I imagine that just as muchy goes into it as with any other kind of media. I think at some point I thought about trying to write a paper or article on it. I'd like to write somethign academic now that I have my degree but it's soooo hard to figure out what to write and where to start. At least with school they give you an outline and an idea where to start. :XD: I thought it coudl be interesting but I'd have to figure out what has and hasn't been discussed first. I don't doubt that articles on digital art have been written. :)

Wow...thank you so much. You dont' know what it means to me for you to say something like that about my writing. I am terribly self-conscious and unsure about my writing. I'm convinced most of the time that my stuff is too character driven and I spend too much time on the inner journey rather than action. :XD: I personally enjoy reading stories with character driven plots and find it more interesting if a character grows and changes drastically during the course of it whether or not there is any real action in the story but still I often wonder if anyonen would find my work compelling. I am also convinced that the rest of what I write is mostly drivel. What I have posted here at DA is what I am either proud of or am convinced has potential and would like advice on. :XD:

So thank you so very much for saying that. It gives me quite a boost. :) I hope that you are right that there are others who feel the same.

Wow this ended up being much longer than I intended. I got carried away. I will take my leave but I do hope to hear from you again.

Yeah I prefer constructive criticism over "awesome" or "you suck".
Though I tend to fav and run a lot.. I have to admit.

And as long as you feel the need to, and feel it could contribute,
write the article!!!
With or without a degree, speak your mind! ^_^
If you link it to me, I promise you I will read it and if I like it I'll even advertise it for you.

And you are most welcome  ^_^
Wouldn't have said it if I didn't mean it.

I think most people do. :D Sometimes it's nice to have someone tell you how greaty they think you are but after a while I think one starts to wonder why. :XD: And as for the latter...well who likes to hear "You suck" point blank with nothing qualifying it. lol. It's so nice to get real genuine feedback. I have not yet set up a full critique. Maybe the next time I post some of my writing where I really want some help I will. I think I'm a bit nervous that people might take it as liscence to go all out and i know that's a silly thing to fear, lol. I admire people though who ask for full crits.

I tend to fave and run for the most part. I kind of think that faving to a degree kind of says a lot without words. At least that's how I feel and while I'd love to know why a person decides to fave my work I am appreciative of the fave. :D

It's something that I have at the back of my mind a lot of the time. i'm always thinking about what I could write an article about. I suppose if it never gets picked up by a journal or magazine I could just post it here. No money for it but others might read it and find it interesting. :D With the internet these days one does not need a journal or mag to disseminate their thoughts. i'm not sure how the footnotes and bibliography woudl fit but maybe I could post them in a seprate file or something. :XD: Something to think about.

If I ever write an article, published or not, I will certanly let you know or upload it and link it to you so you can check it out. :D The trick is working out where to start and how to go about it. When it school one always recieves a list of guidelines for writing their paper but not necessarily so with an article. :XD: oh well...:D

 it still means a lot to have someone who does't know me at all say that. :D I appreciate it so much.
